What?

The Index Kaleidoscope is a concept derived from the Price kaleidoscope built by the Federal Statistical Office of Germany. The kaleidoscope is a graphical way of representing indexes statistics. It shows a quick overview of both the weights and the trend of index groups.

Further enhancements could include comparisons of different quarter; either overlaying previous data or by providing the ability to select specific quarters to display.

Why?

Several areas within the ABS have show an interest in the concept originally developed by the Federal Statistical Office of Germany. The Index Kaleidoscope is a proof of concept showing how indexes could be adapted to the original Price Kaleidoscope concept.

When?

There is no current release for this product as it is a proof of concept only, but dependant on demand this product may be developed further.
